Hi guys, picked up a new pair of leos yesterday :D The female is diablo blanco with pure ruby eyes and the male is a giant/supergiant(127 grams) blanco het for diablo. Tried to use the morph calculator to figure out what i can produce with them but cant find a "het diablo" option. I imagine i just have to put het eclipse and tremper? Does anyone know what i can produce? I was thinking 25% diablo 25% giant diablo 25%blanco het diablo and 25%giant blanco het diablo. Im more than likely wrong :main_laugh: thanks for the help guys

Wait a Blanco is a Blazing Blizzard so its a Blizzard Tremper het Eclipse

The results are kind of dependent of whether the gecko is giant or super giant. From what you guessed you are assuming its a giant.
Giant Blazing Blizzard het Eclipse X Diablo Blanco (Blizzard RAPTOR) =
25% Giant DB
25% Giant Blazing Blizzard het Eclipse
25% DB
25% Blazing Blizzard het Eclipse

Diablo blanco

Genetic Outcomes
50% Blazing Blizzard (Tremper Blanco) HET Eclipse
50% Diablo Blanco

If it is giant then half of that is normal half giant. If super giant then 100% giant.

I'm no expert but from everything I have seen or read I believe they have to weigh at least a specific amount before they actually can be called so. Like 80 grams for female and 90 grams for male within the first year. Supers I think are another 20 grams each within the same time frame. I do not know how you should label them for sale though (technically speaking) There are far many more on here well more versed then I in this whole topic.

I would use terms such as "probable giant" or "possible giant" in an instance like this. I think the breeders that are hatching lots of giants and super giants are probably pretty good at eyeballing them when they're young, and I'm learning some of the tell tale traits, but I still think it's best to err on the conservative side.

As to weights, while I know this has become the standard way to define the morph, I still remain cautious. I have animals that I'm nearly positive are super giants that are no where near the size they probably should be, and babies that sure "look" to be supers, but aren't growing up as fast as I'd like. I attribute this to a learning curve more than anything. I'm still working really hard at tweaking my husbandry and environments. My point being, how and where the animals are raised can definitely make a difference.

For males 90grams at one year is giant, 90+ is super giant. So your 127 gram blazing blizzard (blanco) het eclipse is a super giant. Linage is important too. If it is a "Moose" or "Godzilla" line bred giant/super giant.

Do you know which giant line he came from? Normally I'd say it's just a big gecko if it was in the lines of giant but without a background on linage. But for something 127grams I would feel safe calling it super giant if it was mine. How old is he? Super giants can take two years to grow to full size sometimes, most of the growth is in the first year.

I think blanco means that a blazing blizzard is het eclipse. Otherwise, if it's not het eclipse it's just called a blazing blizzard.

From RT's site:
"BLANCO = The Blanco is a genetically patternless gecko with normal colored albino eyes. The preferred head, body and tail color is white. Some indivduals may have yellowish color on the body, which will be removed through the next generations of selective breedings."

Didn't say anything about het eclipse. I think blanco would be his special line of bb because he well says:
"* Diablo Blancos - two all red-eyes or snake eyes
* Blancos - het for DB
* Albino Blizzards - het for DB
* Raptors - het for DB"
Which makes me think that way.

Hmmmmmm I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that blancos are het eclipse, I think it was on this forum. Lol But don't take my word for it though. :p
