I got an adult leopard gecko on Tuesday. It hasnt eaten since I got it. Ive given it crickets but it's just not interested. A couple days ago I saw diarrhea in the cage. Can stress cause diarrhea? I'm worried it has parasites and if I have to get a fecal exam done there's nothing I can bring since it hasn't pooped and since it wont eat I don't think it will. I'm hoping it's just stress but i don't know of stress can cause diarrhea. What do you guys think? Oh and all the temps are right. Plenty of hides with one moist one and she's on reptile carpet. Thanks

stress can play a part in the not eating as it can take a while for them to settle in.
has just the one poo been loose or has it been several?
the vet can preform a swab or a flush to receive a sample if needed so dont worry about that.

Where did you purchase the gecko? Was it housed with multiple cage mates? Is it eating? Describe the physical appearance of the gecko. Does it have a fat tail? Diarrhea is abnormal, is a common symptom of parasites, and the underlying cause should try to be diagnosed. I would go to a vet soon if I were you.

I would let your new gecko settle in for a bit. Yes, stress CAN cause diarrhea and also make them not want to eat. Just chill, give her about a week and she should start eating, then when she starts pooping take the poo to the vet and ask them to do a fecal smear and fecal float. My gecko's very first poop was COMPLETELY runny on the day I brought him home. Now he's eating fine and pooping nice, big, solid logs. Now if she is skinny, has a skinny tail, or any weird discharge or anything around her vent then you need to take her to the vet ASAP.

Great news! She pooped in her regular corner again and it was solid. Back to normal poop. Wonder what caused her to poop on the opposite corner and what made it runny and wet?

I'm gonna guess stress since when I think about it I did handle her for a few minutes.

I'm gonna take a stool sample to the vet. She poop normal for a week on sand and then I changed her to tile and she popp fine up to the past 2 nights.

Normal poop. Wet poop. And then normal again which was my last post and I just found another wet and runny poop. I'm lost. Shes on tile now and eating regularly. Lots of meal worms and crickets.

Super odd thing tonight though. She saw me and ate. Few mealworms and then got uninterested and started darting across her tank. Like full on sprinting all over for about 30 seconds and then went to hide.
