Did I get a RAPTOR??

These babies came from a tremper x tremper breeding. As far as I know, neither of my trempers was supposed to be a het for anything. The first eggs hatched out, and I got 2 trempers, as expected. When the next pair hatched out, I got one tremper, and this:

next to its tremper clutchmate

I think it's a RAPTOR, but I'm not 100%. If it is a RAPTOR, would that render all of its siblings tremper albino 66% het for RAPTOR?

thanks!

Craig... Congrats on the Hatchlings.

There are all kinds of unknown genetics in a lot of todays leos. Many get sold off as normals from breeders just because the need the room.

The baby in question almost looks like a Jungle Snow Raptor?

What temp did you incubate at?

I was thinking not only raptor but looks snow too! Is there a poss a snow on either side, or are your tremper(s) really light in color?? But the tremper sibling doesn't look lighter then usual at all- werid. Yeah this can happen b/c sometimes there only poss 25% het for something and I'd still let everyone know - just to know- but I guess some don't. B/C I got a nice surprise last season when I bred my Emerald/Emerines group togther and pulled out a Raptor Emerald and a Eclipse Emerald, so I got them a season early- a nice surprise! :) VERY NICE BABIES!! Yes, your right about them being poss hets then.

no a Raptor is talbino eclipse patternless reverse stripe you can't have a jungle raptor. it looks like it's showing the eclipse and it's very pale showing mack of some kind:main_huh:

Thanks for the responses guys! As far as I know, there is no snow in either of the parents. I bought them as 15g juvenile plain ol' Tremper Albinos from a fly-by-nighter at a local reptile show a year or so ago. They were my first leos, so I figured I'd just pay the 15 bucks a pop he was asking for them and see if they were something I would enjoy.

Here is the daddy to the baby in question:

This is the mama (keep in mind her colors are much lighter than usual because she's still laying):

And here is the first clutch of hatclings. The baby in question came from the second clutch. As you can see, theres nothing too mind blowing here:

So all in all I just have no idea what this thing could be. I was hoping yall might have a definate "this is what it is!" answer, but I guess it's harder to tell than I thought. Maybe I got lucky and stumbled onto a new genetic anomalie! :main_rolleyes: :main_laugh:

You can very much have an Eclipse Eyed Tremper Albino ;) Its a RAPTOR Genetically as much as a Patternless animal is.

How old is the JUNGLE RAPTOR in that image.

Jon, we all know what RAPTOR stands for, thanks for the entry level class on genetics.Since you want to play teacher get it right... patternless stripe , not patternless reverse stripe ;)

Gotta love it when someone tries to correct you on morphs.:main_thumbsup:

Well to me the Female Looks like it could be a Snow Tremper.

Thats what I was talking about. People unloading animals having no Idea what they are because they bought a group lot from someone.

You will just have to wait and see what the rest of the Siblings hatch out looking like.

What Temp did you Incubate the eggs at???

Thanks again you guys! I really appreciate the help IDing this little guy. As for the mack snow tremper albino possibility, here is a picture of the mama in full color, before she was gravid:

now to me, she definately doesn't look like she has any mack snow in her. just a plain tremper albino. do yall agree?

Give it a few sheds and ask us again. It could just be a lower grade tremper and color uo more as it ages.

Please excuse me I wasn't intending to come across as a teacher type. all I was saying is that the lovely leo (I mean that I love tremper eclipse albinos far more than raptors) in question wasn't a raptor it had a pattern. you can't possibly have a patternless animal with a pattern.

again I apologise if I was coming across as condescending it wasn't my intention.

Hey again guys! Since posting, I have been thrown for a loop again! The original animal has started to gain some size and is looking great, and the next pair of eggs from that pairing have hatched out. One of them looked like my original animal in question, but the other was patternless! Here are some new pics:
The original animal:

The animals from the new clutch:

ALL 3 of these guys have 100% red eyes! They came from a tremper x tremper pairing that has also produced comlpetely normal looking trempers. Any ideas??
Thanks again!
