I did a search and couldn't find the answer, so I'll ask here...Rango shed today, his toe tips are perfect, he just has a tiny scrap left on his head and he's in the moist hide right now so I'm leaving him alone. Looking around though, he has left big pieces of shed skin lying about.

I know they generally eat their skin, but is it a cause for concern if he doesn't?

No Cathy. At least in captivity.
I think a lot of what we see left around the tank is some
they RUBBED off.
When I see them eat it, is when they are using their teeth
and pulling it from the body.
Think the main idea is to get it off.
Take care. Hj

Some times I see my other geckos helping others to shed or picking up left over bits to eat :p. They would normally eat the shed so as not to advertise there where abouts to near by predators :)

Very true in the wild.
The captivity feeling of threat seems to pass
with at least a large percentage much to the small
spaces that the gecko is quick to assess.
Take care. HJ
