Hey everyone.

Please double check how this DIY unit sounds and please let me know if there is anything more efficient I can do or things that need changes. My brother and dad are very handy and I most certainly am not so if there are things are aren't "compatible" please let me know ;] [can slide tracks be mounted to plexiglass? Do I glue the plexiglass sides together?] They will absolutely be helping me with this design but I need to draw up a convincing pitch before!

I will be housing two leopard geckos and so far one ball python.

This enclosure will have 5 individual cages - each 9" tall x 20" wide x 20" deep made of plexiglass.

Overall construction will be with plywood. I plan on having a solid plywood rear wall [with holes drilled to allow for cable exchange to/from power strip for UTHs per tank] as well as solid plywood bottoms [which will separate each tank from one another and allow the plexiglass slide tracks to be mounted to something substantial.]

At this point I have no "tops" - will this be an issue for maintaining temperature? I expect there will be an inch or less of "gap" between the top of the tank and the plywood above.
I plan on heating each tank with strips of flexwatt. Anyone have experience with this product? Do you recommend it? I have plans on getting a thermostat as I've heard that stuff gets cookin'! Is it possible for me to create a "hot spot" in the tank as opposed to a full length of flexwatt running down one side of the tank? I worry about achieving a proper gradient from one side of the tank to another and I don't think 18" of flexwatt down the side of the tank will be useful to a leo who only uses a 4" square portion. Can I do a shorter strip and just have a "hot corner" for my leos?

I have some silly drawings if anyone is confused by the picture I am attempting to paint. I can post those if needed for some clarification!
Thank you all!
