I painted it with a light color none glossy paint let it dry. Then i painted it with a PVA (From local hobby store) glue then dusted with a desert sand while the glue was still wet. I did 4 coats of it. I came out hard and very easy to clean. I use a small hand held vacuum with a longer hose.

Still More

Thinking of using E-6000 non toxic water proof glue as foundation base for sand.
Any reason i should not?

I am amazed, because I never thought about doing this with reptile cage. I used to do this when I built my own terrain for Warhammer Models, very ingenious. I have a few questions. You don't use under the tank heating with this setup do you? The only way I can think about that working is if you did it in that hide with the plastic. And curious how much the whole setup will set you back once it is all said and done.
