Do geckos emit light in the dark?

Dear all,
I have just come back from a holiday in Croatia where I had two geckos inside the holiday cabin. During the night I woke up and saw two lights radiating in the dark, which, after putting on my glasses, were gecko-shaped. When I moved to grab my camera, the lights disappeared and I didn't see them anymore.
As a total novice to this forum and regarding geckos, I am curious, if a) I need to buy new glasses, or b) if it were geckos I saw, which could be the species?

I don't think any geckos emit light. The only things I know that emit light are Fireflies and the fish that live in the depths of the ocean. Or maybe it could be that a light was reflecting off there eyes and thats what you saw.
