Do leopard geckos not eat while in shed?

Was starting to dull up when I go him and is now all gray and about to shed, h hasn't eaten yet and I was wondering if he will be more into eating once he sheds?

Some do go off food during shed periods, but are back to normal not long after.

Mine won't eat for a few day prior then completely off till after they shed. Then they pig out!

I'm just paranoid because my last lizard was a mountain horned dragon and he would never eat. It took a lot to finally get him going.

Leopard geckos eat their shed skin, it's a completely normal, natural behavior for them, so this could keep them full for a bit after they shed.

Well he hasn't shed yet. I got him 4 days ago and he went grey 2 days ago, and cleared up yesterday.

He hasn't ate yet sense I got him. Should I offer a different food item Or just wait till he sheds and go from there?

If you've just barely had him, he might still be adjusting to the new place.

and I agree with others I have one that will stop eating during shed, then eat more after and then I have one that always eats.

Its prob a mix of you just getting him and him shedding. I wouldnt worry to much. Just keep offering food.

He ate a couple crickets and a mealworm last night!!! Yay! I feel so much better now lol
