Hi :)

I was just wondering if the reason my gecko doesnt do much on a night is because..well...he doesnt have a whole lot in his tank.

He has his hides and water bowl and calcium dish but i dont have any plants/rock/branches for him to climb on and he seems to like climbing. He trys to get outta the tank if hes given half a chance and seems really nosey.

He was on my lap the other day and i tried to make a little hide for him with my hands to make him feel more secure as ive read other people have done, and he just lifted his head and looked over them and was just watching my BF play on his DS, almost felt like he was telling me to move them cos he couldnt see :D He loves walking all over my lap and climbing up my arms and seems a little miffed when he gets put back.

He isnt hiding in his warm hide as much now, had him for about 3 weeks, and seems to like sleeping in one of the corners on the warm side but not directly on his mat.

Should i get him "toys" and what are the best things to have? I dont want to get something he may hurt himself on.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I think you are answering your question.
If not called bored we could sure call it "little activity"..........
And IMO that is healthy for them. All of my tanks have some of these, ......tunnels,overhead walkways/ladders, climber trees, water falls, tall burl wood, etc.
along with a full screen top of course.
I switch some every so often.
You can make many of them. Stacked slate, Rocks, 2" tile strips joined
in 6" lengths, PVC pipe tunnels also make great shedding additions.
Give em some better choices .....you'll enjoy them more too.
I wrote some threads a while back on making things. The best way to find it is pull a match on my threads. Other worthy reading there too.
Take care. HJ

My leos are little climbers too, which surprised me since everyone told me that they rarely climb.I have a fake waterfall in my tank that they love climbing, even made my own double-chamber hide box. There are threads on here that will show you how to make your own furniture, even climbing walls which is really fun.

I've always wondered if they get bored too. I'm sure they do. If ones out all day, what will they do in there?? I heard some people bought stuffed animals and pillows for beardies. Never heard of anything for geckos. I'm a new leo owner so do they do well with toys too?
