Do unglazed clay pots lose too much moisture to be humid hides?

I have some Coleonyx brevis. I just set up a big new tank for them and their daytime buddies, some utas. I put an overturned bulb pot with 3 slits molded in the sides (one of which I enlarged with a rat tail file) over a clay saucer which fits the bulb pot's opening, and put about an inch of perlite in there. I moisten the perlite about every day by pouring a bit of water through the central hole on the top of the bulb pot. Does unglazed clay lose too much water to act as a humid hide? I see that the gex do enter this thing and apparently are able to find their way out.

I actually like the non glazed pots. They hold moisture in the clay itself. But i do believe moisture might evaportate faster in these then in clay pots but I make sure to spray down the inside of the hides and the hides themselves every other day or so.
