Do you hand feed your cresties???

Do you guys hand feed your cresties cgd? I feed mine a little until it starts running around its cage and then i put the little dish of it in its cage. Does it find it and lick it or does it just sit in there and get hard? I need to know if im doing this right. If you can help thanks.

I have hand fed before but I never made it routine. I place the dish in at night, so it stays fresh all night. I wouldnt get into the hand feeding routine, beacuse he may not eat if you just place the bowl in. Some reptiles get into feeding routines.

Yes place the bowl in the cage at night away from heat, so it will last longer. Hand feeding isnt a bad thing to do. It gives you and ur pet a special bond. But do not do it evertime you feed. Let them search for the food.

I have one male that I hand feed. He was a rescue and he refuses to eat on his own. The others all do quite well hunting for their food. Smeagol is just spoiled rotten, LOL.

yes as others have said, i wouldn't get into a routine of hand feeding if it's not necessary.
I have one little guy who doesn't do so well on his own and isn't at full health so he gets some assistance just to make sure he is getting what he needs but my others are all independant in there hunting
