Do you have a leo that looks at you straight in the eyes?

My 2-month old mack snow is very alert and always looks at me right in the eyes. Her head always follows me around the tank as if she's a bearded dragon. Sometimes she even moves to get a better angle if she couldn't see my face due to a decor or the black horizontal bar in front of the Exo Terra tank.

I picked her because she was labeled as "Super friendly" on the Designer Geckos website. I guess it's because she stares. :main_laugh: I don't have many to compare with so I'm just wondering if other members have leopard geckos like this.

I have not tried to handle her because she's still kind of small. She pokes her head out when I get home or turn on the light. Then she walks out to the front of the tank, but my SHTCT girl also comes out except the SHTCT never looks at me. My tremper albino giant girl can't even see her food half of the time so forget about looking at me.. LOL

I have a few like that. Designer Geckos has wonderful animals so I don't doubt her alertness. That's a good sign.

Oh no, I love it. I think she's adorable. Are they also mack snow? I'm assuming it's genetics. I wonder if it's because she has better eye sight than my other two. Possibly smarter, too.

There's always variability in how much geckos seem to tolerate (or even prefer) handling. I have a small group at home, and while a couple really seem to enjoy being out, there are definitely also a couple that will flee as soon as they see people.

In the stores it's always easy to see which babies are friendly - exactly what you described, they walk right out when we feed or water them and look right up at us. Super cute!
