I always hear you guys talking about having a good or bad "season". Do you have to breed during certain months or is it just better or what?

From what I gather females are only gravid or egg producing during a certain time of year. Breeding season.

They will breed at all different times... My "season" starts about three months after most people... That's why I still have geckos laying... I do feel left out when lots of people start showing off babies between January and March... :(

Awww! Michael, don't feel bad! We still love to see the babies even when others seasons are over. We have a male and female together now and she's not ovulating or anything so her season is not now.

Also, some people cool their geckos during the winter months. I don't know much about this but I'm sure others can tell ya.

I believe that cooling should not be done because the ambient air temperature of a house drops enough to stimulate breeding. I don't think any extra help is needed as far as cooling. My season JUST started.

When i cool my leos i simply turn there heat tap off, and there whold cage is between 70-79 degrees which is room temp in my house. Then i keep the heat tape of for a month and a half. And then turn it back on mid december and warm them back up for about 1 month so they can chow down for a month and then put them to breed around mid january. I do have some leos that lay toward the end of the year still, like right now for example i have about 5 leos still laying eggs and some just begining.

I have had eggs in my incubator since late january and hope to have eggs in it for the next 10 years straight :D Right now I only have 9 in there(mack rainwater crosses mostly), but 5 females are laying and more should start soon.
