Can I leave the worms in room temp, or do they have to be left in the fridge?

I don't want my Gecko's to get sick.

Also should I feed the worms? I normally get worms in some kind of wood chips
is this enough? Though my gecko's don't seem to be eating much so gonna take to the vet. I have been feeding the worms from 7-11, though if this is a problem I can buy worms from the pet shop. I never feed anything from outside though. I don't want to lose my Gecko's. I love them. My mom is worried about Salmonella..I told her until I move into my own place I will not let them out of the tank, there that should not be a problem.

The main reason people keep their worms in the fridge (or any cool-temp location) is so the worms go into a hibernating state, so to speak, and slow down their motabolism and pupaeting(sp?) rate. Basically, they last longer. Keep in mind that when they are asleep in this state they don't eat, so make sure you bring them back to room temperature and let them eat a bit to fatten up before feeding them to your geckos. I usually do this by having more than one container of mealworms.

I wasn't even aware 7-11 sells mealworms. Are they those dead kind in a can? Many geckos don't like those as they prefer live food, so that could be your problem.

Wow I just always take out of fridge and feed. I did not know to bring to room temp then feed the worms. No wonder my gecko's have not been eating. 7-11 sells live worms they move but I do notice after taking out of the fridge, sometimes the worms don't move, sometimes they do move.
The worms are alive though I have seen them move. Though I am scared. Are these worms safe to feed? The worms don't come from a pet store but yes they move. My gecko's have not been eating much, if at all. I'm going to try today to get them to eat. Though I can dangle a worm in-front of both Gecko's and they just look at me. They have to start eating. I am worried. Or maybe they do eat and i don't see it. All I know is I keep having to take moving worms, or dead worms out of the cage all the time.
