Does Albeys method work with Vermiculite?

My wal-mart doesn't carry perlite at this time of the year and I just bought the remainder of there stock of vermiculite. Will Albey's method work with vermiculite?

I use the same ratio regardless of whether I'm using vermiculite or perlite.

The Wal-Marts here are the opposite.
They carry Perlite year round, but no vermiculite.

I have never ever seen perlite been sold anywhere except OSH but it had fertilizer so I stick with vermiculite.

while i havent tried it yet, i have a bag of hatchrite that my buddy gave me. supposedly this requires no water at all. i am not sure. he prefers using vermiculite but since he had the bag he said we could try it and see how it goes. but i belive u have to go on the web to get that. if i dont like it though i will be switching to vermiculite as well.

I use the 'Albey' method with vermiculite, and it works very well with the same ratio of 0.8 parts water : 1 part vermicutlite by weight.
