Has anyone tried feeding dubia roaches to your leos? If so, would you recommend using them? How long/wide do they grow? Are full grown adults to large for adult leos to eat. I was thinking about getting some but would like some advice.
thanks,

I just feed my medium and small sized roaches to my leos. The extras that make it to adult hood go back to my breeding colony. You could feed an adult roach to a full grown gecko, but I would recommend several smaller items compared to one large one.

Yes I do, just make sure the roaches width are not wider than the neck. Some of mine I feed full grown. Most though just under. They are really good feeders as far as nutrition.

Let me know if you need some.

I feed mostly the medium sized ones. A couple of my big geckos get the large ones, but not the full grown adult ones. Those either stay in my breeding colony or get fed to my bearded dragon or pacman frog.

Thanks, what do you feed yours? Do you need to water them?

If you use the search feature at the top of the page just under the banner and search the feeding/feeders forum for 'dubia' or 'cockroach' I am SURE you will find a LOT of posts about cockroaches and peoples opinion on them and how to care for them.

Thanks Shen, I haven't been on this site long and overlooked that. I'm usually a do-it-yourselfer but the caresheets I googled weren't to specific so I figured i'd ask leo breeders since ya'll should know better than a caresheet and are using them for the same thing as I.

Do I ? thats about all I feed accept for the occasional lateralis discoid or dwarf hisser. all size od nymphs are great for all the different sized hatchlings juvies and adults. most of my adults can and will take adult males. but can not take the adult females too much of a mouth full , but that's ok I keep the adult females so they will produce more nymphs.
