...the differences between tangs, hyper tangs, and super hyper tangs?

What IS the difference at a very young age? How can you tell how they will turn out? Or do you not know until they age a little more ?

Thanks!!

The parents will tell alot, but some nypos can give very nice super hypos.
You can see some signs on hatchlings:
Some times the bands or pattern are lighter, not black, more light brown. In those cases they mostly turn out as super hypos.

Look at those pics:

From last year:

a few weeks later:

and an other light from this year:

a few weeks later;

And this one, dark bandings, but...

after a few weeks he show up a lot of tangerine and not many spots at all. Mayby some will stay, hypo as now:

And an other one from last year :

and as pre adult:

It's easy to tell who's gonna be the best one. But it's harder to tell if the dark once will get any spots as adults or not. They can fade out and be nice hypos or even super hypos.

This is a good example from 2006, this female was sold at 3 month of age, then the pics is taken. She don't got many spots at all to day, sold as hypo;

This was what she looked like as she was younger:

And as you can see is my super hypos from this year more tangerine. Sometimes the color can be more important then a few spots when you are picking out your hold back.

Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted to know....Thanks!!

So here's my "tang" unsure of parents because he was a Petco "rescue" but I LOVE his orange. Such a pretty shade of orange/tangerine color. :) I can't WAIT to see what he/she looks like in a few weeks.
Ideally - I'd love to see him/her keep his orange color throughout most of his body. I'm not asking for a Super Hypo Tang but a nice Hypo Tang would be great! :)

I also enclosed a size comparison picture to show how little he is, probably only about 3" long...what is that a couple weeks?

Thanks so much again!!

It's a very sweet little one. Maybe just about 4 weeks old. He/she shows allready a beautiful tangerine and don't matter about a spot here and there. It gonna be lovely! Keep us updated on this one.
