I'm looking into getting a stick bug at the next Hamburg show. The only question I have is what do they eat? I have read that they only eat bramble leaves. Is this true? What does everyone feed theirs and where do you get their food?
If it turns out that the above is true, then I won't be able to get one :( . I am still fighting with Dean to let me get a tarantula(he says absolutely not because I have severe allergies to bug bites and we have a 3 yr old). What else would be a good insect pet to have? I am looking at a bug that can deal with room temps, can eat live or plant, not a bad bite if one is sustained and calm in temperment. Any ideas? Thanks

I'd say one of those big black milipedes. They grow pretty big, they are handable, they dont bite and they eat lettuce. They are slow moving soo they cant really get away... That would be my suggestion.

I've been reading more and more on them. Not so bad when you get the info on them. Wouldn't mind some hissing roaches either, but the bf would not like that.
