Hi all- sorry if this is the wrong forum for this thread, but I was checking out some random sight where people are trying to get rid of their animals. This woman explained how she went out and bought all this stuff for their normal leopard gecko and now her daughter is affraid of it. Its a normal adult gecko, though she doesn't know the sex. I sent her a link to show her how to figure it out and she just doean't give a crap. She wants it gone but will only sell it and the tank and all the useless crap for $200. She has it on pet store sand...some of the sand is baby blue like its fish tank sand....it looks like glitter. The gecko looks a bit under weight and she claimed that in order to get pictures of it she had to go out and buy crickets....so it made me think she isn't feeding it much if she had to go get crickets so she could get a picture. I would think she would have some sort of feeder on hand. She also has an obnoxious fish decoration in the tank and wonders why the gecko wont climb up it....
Its another case of someone not doing their home work and thinking they can make back every penny they put into it. Its really sad. Maybe im over reacting. I tried to talk her into selling me the gecko for a fair price fro the geckos sake and then she can try and get rid of the tank and lights on Craigslist. Im waiting to hear back, but i don't think she will go for it and this gecko will suffer because no one will pay her $200.....so I post this here becuase if anyone lives near there, maybe they can talk her down to a reasonable price and take this little guy in. Im trying... and I will drive the 100 miles to richmond if I have to....but she is trying to sell the used sand and some moss she had in the corner of the tank and lights....and I don't need any of that....nor do I think $200 is a decent price.
