My little leo Arabesque doesn't like any kind of worms. He'll only eat the crickets. Can leo's tell what their food is eating? Maybe I should change the gutload? So far I've tried meal worms he only ate one and then turned his face away from the others. He's only eaten 1 superworm and now he turns away from them too. I've had him for 4 weeks, he shed three weeks ago just fine and again on this monday with no problems. He eats about 6 crickets a day, he's alert at night, his poop is solid. Is it okay if he only wants crickets?

Some geckos are VERY picky. I have a couple in my rack that ONLY want crickets. I have one that will not eat anything on the small side, only huge feeders. If he is eating them alright then there is nothing to worry about :) Don't alltogether give up on him eating mealworms though. Have you tried leaving a little dish of mealies for him at all times? Also, what size have you tried giving him?

I gave him the smallest ones. The supers are pinky finger sized. He doesn't have a dish in his tank because he likes to hunt his food. I could try mealies in a dish though. Well, as long as he's eating regularly I won't spaz out. Lol! Thanks for the advice.

So...the mini mealworms? They are pretty pointless! The large ones would be just fine for him, even the supers would, assuming he is the gecko in your avatar. He will not choke. I feed MUCH larger prey items to my geckos, and they do juuuust fine :)

You may be surprised and he will eat the mealies in the dish. Like I said though, the large ones will not hurt him one bit. He probably is disinterested due to the small size.

besides what Heather said, how I got my normal to eat mealworms is(warning: sounds kinda gross but it worked)i got a nice, healthy, plump mealworm and squeezed it till some guts come out(watch out. they CAN squirt. i got hit in the face once....i was like EWWWWWW)and put it to ur geckos lips. he will most likely lick it to see what it is. once he tastes the guts he should go after it. I hope this helps :)
