Its something that I'm looking into in starting an experiment with when we have tails grown back and Fry is older. My Mack Fry has an unusual aberrant pattern resulting in a dorsal stripe with some odd spots in the middle that breaks up normal bands.
This picture is a couple of months old but you can see the stripe very clearly right down the middle of his back from the base of his head to his hind legs.
I had a friend who thought he was a stripe but after talking with some people, everyone's pretty sure he's not a stripe.
I'm not sure who his parents are, he was a b-day present so his genetics are a mystery.
But I'm wondering is the genetics of it all. Should I go and find females that have a similar stripe or try him against normals and see what happens.
Or does anyone have experience in breeding for dorsal stripes like his.
I happen to think that the stripe cutting through the bands gives a cool reflective look, that and some think he's a fat-tail cross.
