Drinking bottle

Hi

May I know whether I can put drinking bottle instead of drinking dish for my leo?? Just wonder whether leo knows how to lick it as what rabbit does?

If can, then there are some advantages such as the water is not easy to be contaminated and need not change it daily (if the owner is out station for few days)

Thanks!

It may work, but I think it is something that you would need to test out. I use a sprayer to refill my all my water bowls and wet their moist hides. Some of them will occasionally lick the water droplets off of the end of the nozzle. You would definately have to make sure that the bottle is NOT spring loaded, or their would be no way they would be able to get the water out. Like I said I think you will have to test out different methods and see what works, but it just might work.
Good luck!

Barbel,

Thanks for your feedback!! The drinking bottle that I mentioned is the one that most people use for rabbit and hamster. I will try to check whether there is spring inside it or not.

Thanks!!

You're welcome. The big water bottles are for rabbits and guinea pigs and other big animals and the smaller water bottles are for hamster and mice. Most of the smaller ones are not spring loaded, but a few are. The easiet way to check for a spring is to try and push the little ball with your finger. Don't use a lot of pressure. If you feel any resistance, then there is a spring, if it is really easy to move, there shouldn't be a spring.
Good luck and I hope it works out for you!

Oh, a great idea! I can't believe I didn't think of that!! :wall:

Cleaning it out a few times a week is still better than finding out Gretchen's water is empty!!!
