Its been 24 hrs and my raptor laid only one egg.She is still retaining one egg.should i give her a warm soak or wait till she drops it ?
Are you sure the second egg is fully developed and ready to be dropped? You can generally see several stages of egg development in females at the same time and some leos will only lay one egg at a time. But if your positive it's ready then I would study her behavior. Is she spending all her time in the lay box/moist hide? Is she still digging? Is she acting uncomfortable? Is she refusing food (this doesnt necessarily mean she still needs to lay though)? Sometimes when they are stuck you can see them straining like they are trying to lay. They will generally have their rear legs slightly back and their tail lifted up. This is the usual pushing position. If you see this repeatedly and nothing is happening then something is wrong and she will likely need a trip to the vet for some induction. For now though, a warm soak couldnt hurt. Just try not to stress her too much. Good luck to you!
