dry catfood for roaches

quick question:

do you have to mash it up so its basically powder or can you just feed it to em as it comes out of the bag?

i use dry cat food and put it through a coffee grinder prior to feeding it to the roaches.. i dont know if its needed or not..

Be careful of dog, cat, and ferret food. The meat by-products in them are not pasteurized, and can go rancid which can cause bacterial infections in the leopard geckos. These feeds were formulated for warm-blooded animals that have a higher tolerance for gut bacteria from meat, where cold-blooded animals are not. If you want to use commercial dry pet food, monkey chow might be a better choice as a gut load.
