my male blizzard I rescued yesterday from a horrible petshop here in Saint Petersburg, FL has dried skin on his toes, tail, underbelly, and a bit around each eye, and his lips.

We put him in a tupperware container with some luke warm water and a paper towel to soak his feet and feet, tail, tail, and body. With a Q-Tip and the water we got off the excess dried skin from everywhere but we stayed away from his eyes.

any suggestions on getting that skin off: I'm hoping he'll rub his face in his moist hide coco fiber on the rocks and other items in his cage but wondered if there was a way to help him out. It looks painful and uncomfortable..

What I did when I had a problem like this, was a tried my best to moisten the skin with a Q-tip. Just touched it lightly enough that water got onto it. She eventually scratched one off, and the other moved enough when it was wet, that when it dried again it fell off easier.

I agree that you can use a wet Q-Tip and gently go over his eyes in a rolling motion. With the water soaks, humid hide, and some moisture on the eylids, it should come off.

It worked; I was just hesitant because of his eyes and I want to be sure before I tried. He has a little left on his ear slits but it's coming off in bits and pieces. He's a happy camper.

Thank you.
