i go a little more simple, as i have found that cat food will start to stink, potatoes will develop a wierd a mold, and i dont have any idea where i would find chick starter.

so i use oatmeal, koi pellets, and oranges for moisture.

I do pretty much the same that you do lindy - I blend puppy chow with a 7 grain mix that I buy in bulk at Fred Meyers. Then once that is nice and fine I add in some gut load. Easy as that, and mine go NUTS over it! For moisture I am using water crystals, and they get fresh fruits and veggies once a week (but they are gone within a day or two).

Game Bird Layena

Game bird Layena and Game bird chick starter will serve you better than that for chickens as it has higher protein values. Yams are superior to potatoes for nutritional reasons. However we prefer moisture munchies instead of crystals.
