Are dubia's nutritious enough to be bed as the primary diet of leopard geckos? Obviously variety is best, but I'm thinking like maybe 75% dubia's and then 25% mealies, supers, etc. Thanks!

They are very nutritious if you feed them a balanced nutritious diet. They are better than mealworms and only need to feed a few a day. The only problem would be to get a stable colony going then I wouldn't see why not to feed them.
There are a couple people on here who feed them full time so maybe they so chyme in ;)

I feed Dubias and other roaches around 80% of the time. Dubias are great because not only are they very nutritious, but they are so meaty I only have to feed 2 large nymphs every couple day to my adults. They are probably one of the best primary diets you could use.

They are MUCH more nutritious than say meal worms and crickets for instance. 1 male adult dubia to each adult, and they are good for a day or so. I got a VERY sick gecko from a pet store (the only one I ever and will ever buy from one). Clark (the sick little girl) has been on a main diet of dubia, and is currently at a VERY healthy 42 grams and 5 months :)

I have over 10000 Dubia and they are an absolute pleasure to have around. I feed them to most of my geckos, but do carry a small supply of mealworms around for some of those More stubborn individuals and usually after getting those animals to eat a 25% Dubia/75% Mealworm diet and then slowly convert to 50%/50% and then hopefully 100% Dubia. As most breeders I purchase from don't feed roaches it becomes somewhat of a nuisance trying to Convert all these animals onto Roaches. But after awhile and after breeding mealworms for so long I could never go back. My animals seem healthier, happier and this will be my first year starting Hatchlings on Roaches, so I`ll let you all know ;)

Sounds like a plan. I still have 1,000 mealies of feedable size, and a few generations of eggs/babies to feed, so that should be plenty of time to get a colony going (even if I have to buy a few more K's of mealies. Any reccomendations on were to purchase from, and how many to get? I realize I wont be feeding them to my leos for quite a while... Nigel, I will keep in touch with you, to see how things go with the hatchlings. Thanks for the help everyone!
