Pictures might help but the way you describe it doesn't sound normal. The inside of a gecko's ear is pretty delicate so I might leave it alone and see if it goes away after his his next shed. If its near the surface a q-tip might help, but I'd be careful about sticking something harder in his ear. A sudden turn of the head and he could be really hurt.

That sounds like another shedding issue? Did you get a moist hide in his tank?

yes its normal that clear film is his ear drum DO NOT POKE IT WITH ANY THING WHAT SO EVER!!!
there is one in both ear same as every species of animal alive.
if you hold the gecko to the light you should be able to see light through from one side to the other. you also should be able to see some very tiny blood vessels.
