Early season infertility?

I have several female leopard geckos and they began laying eggs last week. The first two females gave me a pair of bad eggs each. I got another clutch from another female today, and they are still very dented, though not as bad as the previous two clutches. I am going to give these eggs a shot. My question: Is it normal for the first clutches of the season to be infertile, or am I doing something wrong? All three of these females are first time layers. I think I let the vermiculite dry out too much with the first two, so I have corrected that problem...I'm just wondering when I should be expecting some good eggs. Last year I didn't have this problem but my first time clutches came later in the year (still first time layer though). Thanks.

It is normal for females to lay a bad first clutch. It depends on the female for how many good clutches she will lay. 3 out of 8 eggs hatched from one of my females so I hope to get a better year this year.

Haha. Didn't even realize it was you. I got several paternless stripe/bold stripe morphs from you not too long ago. They are all doing great. Your lizards seem to have a lot of personality, especially Sadamitsu. I'm looking forward to their babies!

Glad to hear they are doing well. I wouldn't stress about the bad eggs you got from first clutches. A couple of our breeders who didn't lay a bad first clutch last year did this year.
