Eating calcium... Ovulating?

I just saw my 7-9 month old girl eating a bunch of calcium from her dish in the middle of the day for the first time (had her for 5 months now)... I know it's a rare sight even if they do it normally, gecko shyness and all... But I'm concerned because I'm housing a full grown male just next to her (waiting to get her the same/similar size) and both enclosures have no lid, I don't know if the smell of the male could trigger her ovulation, she's all active, glutton and chubby but I'm worried she's too small to carry eggs w/o problems... Soo... should I worry or she just felt like having an afternoon snack?

Btw she's about 7.3 inches, the male is a monstrous 9.3... tnx!

Leos of either sex eat calcium, it has nothing to do with ovulation. You are right about the smell of the male being a trigger for ovulation. If you don't want her to ovulate you should put some distance between them. You might also want to avoid handling the female after the male without washing his scent off of your hands.
