Ok since i got my gecko Iv dropped the superworms right in front of him and sometimes they crawl into his cave so i have to lift up his hide and scare him to get them out so i bought a bowl that the worms dont escape but its been 2 days and he hasnt found it yet. What should i do? I did feed him 2 last night to make sure he had a little somthin but what do you guys think?

I've experimented with different types of bowls myself. I have used the tall ones so superworms can't get out. I simply place flat rocks around the bowl for added visibility (and yes, they'll find them).

My favorite bowls are the clear ones since geckos can see movement right off the bat. It takes some getting used to since the geckos would lunge at the side of the bowl for a day or two. Once they learn to reach over the top, they don't forget unless you take the bowls out for a few weeks (I've done that as well when I substituted for crix then went back to mealies/superworms).

i have one of the exoterra mealworm dishes with the removable lip that goes over top to keep them from escaping. for the first couple days i left the lid off so it would be easier for him to see them and held a mealie down on the ground outside his hide to get him to come out, then i held one on the edge of the bowl and after that i held one of the ones inside the bowl down so it would squirm and get his attention. once he figured out where the mealworm dish was i put the lid back on and he's been doing fine.

My male wouldn't eat them out of the bowl at first either and so I used tweezers and wiggled it in front of him until I knew that I had his attention and led him to the food dish. I put the superworm in the dish and he pounced on it. Since then he's eaten fine out of the dish.

Leo's can eat alot more than you think they can. We have 2 half grown leo's and they down medium sized supers like hogs with no passing or swallowing problems.
