hey all, i got a gecko last week adult breeder male and he was being fed on baby mealworms and ate well. i have normal sized (fish bate ones) at home here. i put in 3 sunday night after getting him home and i though he had eaten one and figured not used to size so that hwy he only ate one but today i noticed all 3 in the tank crawling around (must ahve hid in the papertowel). i know he has pooped once i think on tuesday i dunno my temps are around 85 nomrally in the tank and i have a humid box (tub with moss with peatmoss) that he seems to spend most his time in, just curious to how long till he adjsuts. i can pick him up and hold him and he is really calm to. any thoughts?

If he was from a good breeder, he will be calm. Geckos aren't compleatly settled down for a few months, but give a 2 weeks. Put about 10 mealworms in the bowl, he will eat more than 2 or 3 in a night.

I can say it could take awhile as my killer will climb on my hand run up my shoulder and sit. But still scatters when I approach the tank. Killer was bought at petstore about 4 weeks ago. killer ate 3 days after moving in and now eats no problems.

Shawn, just leave him be and he will settle in to his new environment and start eating regularly. I am sure the gecko can go many weeks without food before it'll be in any danger. Put some mealies in a dish and every day or 2 replace them until he resumes eating again.

BTW.... see ya thursday in sunny Daytona ;)
