*SMZ-TMP pediatric suspension $10
Eba saw The Odd Pet Vet (Dr. Gregory Mertz for anyone in the eastern MA area). He said it's still too early to tell the sex. Eba weighs 5 grams. The doc said we've got a big one. I don't know if that was a joke or not. He did a fecal. Luckily there were 2 samples on the paper towel this morning. He did not see any parasites, but the fecal was a dry sample so Eba was treated anyway.
Eba is also on meds 1 drop every other day for 30 days to help clear a potential bacterial infection. Thankfully Eba is a very passive, sweet gecko or I'd be getting bit a lot over the next month!
He said the prognosis is very good. Also mentioned if the medicine doesn't work then crypto could be a possibility. Not to worry about that yet though. So I'm very hopefull that Eba is going to pull through & be one very cool family member.
Last night my husband said, "Man I wish I was a lizard & could get all my meals hand fed to me!" That's the plan until Eba's eating on her/his own. Doc recommended baby food & sticking with crushing feeders like I've been doing.
Thank you to everyone who has pm'd me or offered their opinions through posts. I appreciate you putting up with newbie questions over & over. Sometimes the search feature just isn't enough of a comfort level. Thanks again. J & Eba
