Is the eclipse trait a recessive? that would mean that you need two copies to bring that phenotype out?

it acts recessive which is why "het eclipse" is accepted. But it's actually a eye mutation unlocked by carrying the stripe and reverse stripe genes. They don't need to be expressed to unlock the eye trait, but most eclipses are showing atleast some degree of those traits.

yea, recessive is a relative term when discussing the eclipse trait.... for the most part it acts as such though.
