I'm going to get some eggcrates from eggcrates.com, any suggestion on which type of crates work better for dubia and discoid colony?

- standard eggs?
- quail eggs?
- chukar eggs?
- duck/turkey eggs?

**(I don't exactly know what "chukar" is; looked in the dictionary and it says "small bird" only. So I'm guessing the egg size is between standard egg and quail eggs)?

I'm thinking of getting some chukar egg crates for the smaller roaches that I've separated out for feed off; do you think they'll work for larger adult roaches too? Or is the larger turkey egg crate better for the breeding adults?

crates

I personally use the crates for chicken eggs, dubia, and discoids are pretty large when adult or nearly adult size, game bird egg crates aren't going to offer an adult roach enough room per cell.

I would suggest the best type is the cheap ones! Check your area for a local farmer might be selling eggs. I went to a small 'veggie' market and talked to a lady that sells me the 12 egg crate for very cheap. I just picked up a 1,000 this weekend.

Yeah, I used to get mine used from a grocery store too (about 5c a piece); but I'm concern with the hygene with those. They might be contaminated by broken eggs or other stuff. So, I decided to pay more for some unused ones, just to be safe. :)
