ok so do you cut your eggs once one pips or do you let them do i on there own?
I cut them as soon as the first one pips. Why take chances?
If the humidity was not correct, the shells do not soften enough for the egg tooth to get thru so you would need to cut them to allow the babies a chance to emerge.T&KBrouse said:As just a hobby breeder, I let nature takes its course. What would the pupose of cutting the eggs be?

What could happen if you don't cut them?
When the baby first pops it's head out.Halley said:What is "pip" I don't think I totally understand this.

If all eggs pipped at say day 55 except for one and a few days later it still hasn't pipped, you may need to cut it to check on the baby. It could be having a hard time getting out and would die in the egg if not assisted.
Albey said:Pipping is when the baby Snake slits the egg with its egg tooth and sticks it’s head out. As soon as one of them does it I open the rest of them to make sure they all make it out safely. What can happen is the baby just drowns in the egg. Any one that has ever bred Fat-tail Geckos knows the heart break of having an egg go full term and the baby just dieing in the egg. If there were any way to open those eggs I would be doing it also. Unfortunately it doesn’t work with Fat-tails.
