i have an egg that is starting to dent in, it has been in the incubator for 3 weeks now. what should i do. plus, i have 2 other eggs that are sorta short and fat, and are fairly hard and solid white, and 2 others(the ones in the incubator for 3 weeks now) are long, and a little translucent. what should i do, is this normal? thanks.

What medium are you incubating with? I advise all people who are first starting out to try Albey's method (I don't personally use it but I have tried it). It's almost fool-proof.

As for your current situation, I've heard of people setting a moist paper towel over the dented eggs. Wait for someone to confirm that because I've never done it, just something I've read on here I think.

I had lots of eggs like you're describing this past season...

For the most part those that dented early on turned out to be infertile, but several perked back up using similar methods as described above...

I also had a handful of eggs which were translucent on the tip(s)... These eggs were found like this and it's my assumption that they absorbed too much moisture due to an overly moist lay box... They were all placed directly on top of the substrate and all, but two became opaque again... All of these eggs hatched including the two which remained translucent...

I hatched an egg that turned light brown at week 3 and dented up! I don't give up on any egg until it grows hair longer than me and smells worse(being funny).

moist paper towel over the dented egg, make sure the medium is moist enough and watch for the dented on to plump or go really bad.
