This is probably a really stupid question but Im wondering if you can have one fertile egg and one non fertile egg in the same clutch?

I couldn't help it I candled my eggs last night one is definitly viable pinkish area but my other egg looks completely empty No circular pinkish area at all.

No not usually. I had a clutch last year that was stuck together, one was infertile. It had no effect on the good egg, but it didn't mold either. Just stayed the same. Finally got them apart right before hatching. I left the infertile in the cup until it eventually molded.

I did try to get them apart when they were first laid, to no avail. So to avoid damage, they had to e left as they were.

i had basically the same thing happen last year. had what looked like two good eggs and only one hatched. i waited another 10 days or so and finally pipped the second egg. it was infertile. if the egg looks good and keeps its shape, doesn't mold, etc, incubate it
