Hello, are all eggs suppose to grow in size during incubation? The information I've gotten is that eggs can grow up to 2 times its original size a week before hatching. My 2 eggs are nearly 4 weeks old now at 89F; since I use the "raised-platform" method, I expect them to hatch a little earlier, so sometime next week (maybe Wed - Sun). However, I looked at them everyday and don't seem to see them grow in size at all. I've only candled them once on day 1 and I THINK I saw bullseyes in both of the eggs. They're still white and plumb at the moment, just that I don't see the growth that everyone talks about.
I know they suppose to collapse and mold if the eggs are no good, and I've heard exceptions of dud eggs that managed to look good throughout the whole incubation period. Just wondering under what conditions can that happen? Lower incubation temp? Drier medium? Mine is cooking at constant 89F with almost 100% humidity, they should've at least show some signs of failure by now if they're no good, right?
I think this might be the only clutch I'm getting from my female this year. As of today, her belly is still pretty flat - no signs of a second clutch. So I will be extremely devastated if these eggs don't make it.
