Alright, I have been through this all before....

Today my tremper decided she was going to lay two eggs in the laybox...

Problem is, i didnt even know she was still pregnant! (i shoulda considering she wasn't eating)

Anyway, usually I check my laybox when I wake up at 7:30 and check em before I leave for work... Then Check it when i get home at 5:30 pm. I went to dinner tonight with my gf so I got home at 7:20.. and noticed the eggs in there..

I also didn't check the box last night either. The eggs coulda been in there for almost 24hrs....The substrate was still perfectly moist(i use ecoearth)...

You think these eggs are alright? They candled white, but i know sometimes they do initially. They seemed soft.

I quickly made a new tub of moist Vermiculite(I have seen that you can mix the vermiculite with water then squeeze most of the water out and it will be good) and popped em in the bator.

I know this was long, so i am sorry.

thanks for any advice!:main_thumbsup:

I have no idea. It sounds like you don't know 100% sure how long they where in there, though. But cook them till they rot. I actually just had the same thing happen to me, with my normal female. She didn't lay over a month (I would have to check lay dates) but I checked it one day and there was a huge egg in there (I think it might have been in there a while) I think the egg is good, and is being cooked right now. So I’m sure you are fine, mine was in there for a while. (She dug bedding up, and I didn’t even bother checking it for 3 days, I just figured she was digging, as I thought she was obviously done lying.) So you are most likely fine, with this egg. It is just good, that you found it, at all. Good luck with it!!!!

sweet.

Another question, because I dont wanna bother everyone with another thread...

the First two eggs that she laid have gotten very big recently...

I candled them and I see lots of veins and some like solid ball-like stuff near the top...

What does this mean? I dont think theres a huge fetus in there... They were laid May 5th. and incubated at 83

Sounds like they are still good and at 83 days cooking I would think somewhere are 52-57 days would be aboout right. Also alot of the eggs will get bigger a few days before hatching. Best of luck!
