Here is the funny part first...So I get up this AM and notice Bonnie is sporting a much leaner Leo Body...so I was like YAY eggs were laid!! I get her lay box out (vermiculite) and start to gently move the vermic. around to find the eggs.....Ummmm NO EGGS! I was like where the hell did the eggs go??? HAHA turns out she decided to lay them in her moist hide in the sphagnum moss! And she did this ever so gently because there was barely any moss ourside the hide!! So I had to laugh at that!!

Ok so here is the question! The eggs Bonnie laid last night are HUGE!! These eggs are even bigger then the first clutch that have now grown! I took a pic for you guys...so the top two eggs were laid on 2/14 and the bottom 2 just last night!

Thoughts???

PS as a girl it hurts me just thinking about little Bonnie pushin those bad boys out!!! :p

hope you don't mind but Im bumping this!!

Anyone give me insight on the egg size?? Do super's or Giants come from bigger eggs? Remember I don't know the background of my two so could they have giant or super in them???

I have had this happen a few times and it wasn't due to giant or SG genes (not to say that it does or doesn't happen that way bc I have not bred either). But what seemed to have happened with mine is that the female retained the larger eggs longer than the smaller eggs. Do you know how long she retained either pair of eggs? I am not positive that is the reason for my case but it was my own observations and educated guess. All pairs hatched with no viable differences in size either.

And I have no idea if this helps you or not lol. But I tried :)

the first two eggs are only just hitting 2 weeks old. And I haven't candled them yet...I like to wait atleast 2 weeks before i mess with them.

All of your answers have helped lend some insight! I am going to candle the 2nd clutch this weekend. First clutch only one seems fertile.

Thanks guys
