Iam curious if anyone has had any luck transporting leo eggs or any ideas? I may have to move in late aug but wish to take my eggs too.
THANKS in advance
I've heard of some people getting a car adapter and plugging the incubator into that. If you can't find one you could always get some bags of water at the same temp as you're incubator and leave them in there if you're not moving to far away. I'm not to sure how well that would work though. Just a thought.
hmm.... far away might consist of 20hr drive inclueding a 2hr ferry ride! Iam not sure if Iam moving there yet but it may happen in August. Temperature wise it could be very warm as its the end of summer! By then it will be two adult gecko's maybe a hatchling and some eggs.
Every year when I drive down to FL I take an incbator with what eggs I have left for the year. I just plug it into an car adaptor for the 15-16 hour drive.
The most important thing some don't think of when doing this is make sure the egg containers can't slide around in there. What I do is add more containers so that it's a tight fit and they don't move. I have the thermostat control sitting next to me and the incubator within view. This way a quick glance lets me know they are still ok.
I had to move my eggs from the dorms to my apartment complex, 30 min drive. I used a car adapter. One thing I noticed you have to watch for is where the sun is coming through the window. If the sun is right on the incubator, then it will heat up, if not you're good to go.
As far as it being the end of summer, if your car has A/C, you're good to go
NO A/C in my car but possible in moving van! Will buy a car power converter for the trip if it happens! It will prob be a challenge to transport the eggs that distance but I sure will take care of them. Spikes garvid and looks like she may lay another batch within a day or two.
