Egg with a Green Spot?

Hi, I'm new here, and I'm not sure I'm in the right place for posting this..but based on the posts..maybe. Anyways then, I have with me an egg with a green spot in the center of one side, I've not seen it before..so I'm wondering what it is. I'm thinking it's a spot of mold..but..that's a long guess? I can get a picture of the egg if it's needed.

Here's the story though. My leopard gecko, Freckles, laid an egg about a week ago (she usually has two), so I looked at her, and there was another one peeking out from her side..so I keep waiting for her to lay the other one, but a few days later I'm worried about her since she hasn't laid the egg and seems weaker each day. She stopped taking food for a few days, and would barely come to the water, or even move..she just laid there in the sand and I thought she was dying.. Each day I checked on her, every half hour or so, and finally this morning, there's this egg in the cage. This egg (green spot) is oddly shaped-has a pointed end..and was very cold when I got to it, so I think it's dead..I don't know..it looks all yellowish. Strange though, this egg feels like it's full of air..when you touch it, like it's full of air.. Is that possible?

A pic would definetly help out here. But from how you describe it the egg, is most likely infertile or dead. The female might have been egg binding, but it would be weird for her to do that with just one egg. Somebody else more experience is bound to come along soon though.

Okay, well for some reason I can get the link that you provided to work for me. If you have a photobucket account you might just want to click the image button, and post it that way.

Well..she normally lays two eggs at once, so when she laid one egg then became very slow, I wasn't sure about her. She's still not up to herself, she's resting though and I don't want to move her around to check for more. Is "egg binding" normal?

Here's the other picture, does it work? I'm using imageshack, I don't have photobucket.

Well it is kidda normal, but it isn't good. Kidda like a cold. It is normally caused when the female doesn’t fell that she has a proper place to lay her eggs. Do you have a moist hide or a moist lay box inside the cage? It can also be caused if the female is too small to lay the eggs. My guess is if she has been lying, that she might fell that there is an improper place to lie. What is your cage set-up like?

Yeah, it doesn’t look as bad as I thought. I would cook it. The way I do it is cook it until it rots. I had a few eggs I thought went bad when by cooker went down. However you can't even see thought those eggs now.

If, when you candle it it sorta looks like it has a green blob inside its probably bad...I would suggest incubating anyway, But I have noticed alot of my bad eggs have that greeen blob in them and they candle clear white..

what I meant by saying this is that no matter what we say it has already been done so all I could say to comfort you is they'll be ok to encourage you to try to incubate them instead on trowing them away. Yes, they could be no good but its always good to try anyways.
