Hi all! I had my female crestie lay an egg before she passed =( Attached are some pics of my male. What morph is he?

* Because I have two incubators and one is set to inc female and one is set to inc male leopard geckos, I have keep the crestie egg on top of the fridge. My question is, do the eggs harden up, like literally rock hard or is this a good indication that it is not a good egg?

I appreciate it

* Also, I am thinking about starting to breed cresties but have a couple questions.

Im gonna need to get another female, safest weight for a female to breed? Also, suggestions on a morph to breed my male to?

Thanks All

Sorry about your female.

If the egg is "squeezable and bendy" feeling, they are generally duds. Almost all one egg lays I've had were duds, but just to be sure, wait a few days after lay and candle the egg. It should be red and have veins showing. After 2 weeks if the egg is nothing but yellow, it's a dud.

I dont breed a female until she is at least 40 grams, but many will breed at 35. Females loose a lot of weight during breeding season, so I keep them a little stockier.

Pictures are pretty small but it's looks olive with a bit of fire to me.. Like ento said.. at least 18 month old and 35g to breed.. u don't need a incubator for the crested eggs.. just keep them at room temp.
