Eggs, eggs and more eggs

Been a few weeks and no posts from me. Thought I would post progress for fun, well first year for me and things look better, we were all off to a rough start with several eggs not making it from first year breeders including myself. Now I am sitting on 13 eggs and 2 females laying this week and another female in a couple of weeks. The eggs all look good except 1 egg that candled yellow but at this time is still not dented and un molded 3 weeks in.
I do have a question. Going by days I do have 2 eggs that are due Thursday, I checked them Saturday and there still seems to be a little red halo in there but I am not sure. Where the top of the egg you could see veins and all the good stuff. Now it is just dark. Is this the baby I have not noticed this before, both eggs are 2x bigger at least and 1 egg has pretty much curved.

So what do you think the dark area is the baby and is there any way to tell if the eggs are good at this stage. I candle them by placing a small mag light on the tip of the egg.

I am not sure what you mean by the red halo, but the dark/shadow area is definitely the baby :main_yes:

Eggs candle pink/red only because of all the veins developing.. once the baby is fully developed, the egg should candle white, along with the dark shadow you are seeing :) The eggs usually start candling white when they are close to hatching (anywhere from 1-4 days or so)..

Congrats!

The fact that the eggs are 2X bigger is also a good sign. Eggs grow gradually at first, but double in size during their last week prior to hatching :)
