Is my flashlight too much? it has 3 small LED lights instead of 1.. but its pretty small so.. should work. But every egg so far candles infertile but looks fertile. 4 eggs in all, first eggs for each gecko. So, maybe a smaller flashlight and also maybe putting them in a box so the light reflects?

And what I'm seeing is all yellow and no red/pink/orange. I'm incubating regardless but if there's any suggestions on how to candle better I'd appreciate it. Also, I can't fidn the single LED lights anywhere

O IMG_20150108_140612.jpg n a couple of my eggs it took about 3 days to see the embryo clearly. Give them a couple days in the incubator and then check them in a dark room.

Okay will do, and should I pick them up to candle or not? I've been letting them rest in the medium but can take them out.

Also, if they are incubating fore females it'll take longer to show an embryo correct, and should I use a magnifying glass or something else? don't wanna put my face right up to them just because I'm nervous. Otherwise it's been 7 days for the first eggs so ill check again and report back. But that pic was awesome, gonna look for that lol - I'll post again soon with results, hopefully a pic.

The embryo should be easily visible as this was just a camera shot from my wifes phone. You shouldnt need a magnifiying glass i wouldnt think.

Mark the very top of your eggs with a sharpie gently and that way you do not spin the egg. ALWAYS keep the egg top up when handling the egg so that you can place it back into the same position. I dont think breathing on the egg will hurt in and I candle every couple of weeks ( dont know if thats recommended but I think its neat to look at.)

All in all just be very careful with the egg and if you dont trust yourself then just leave them in the incubator and hope for the best.

Do you have the eggs all in one container?

Yeah I marked them right off and yep I have all 4 in one incubator. Just candled and there's definitely 2 fertile eggs, the first clutch, and the second was laid yesterday so I'd think the embryo still has to set and start growing in those. But you're right it was definitely very visible! in the first 2 anyways.

And yeah I basically don't touch the incubator except twice a week for air exchange/candling.

What two did you pair up?

It was a G Project PH Tremp/Eclipse male to a Bold Stripe het Tremp female.

So I'm hoping in the second generation to have Bold Stripe G Project Tremp Eclipse thingies lol. But this season the hatchlings should be either G, Bold, or a mix of both and hopefully some albino (best would be Tremp Bold G het Eclipse)

That's the first 1.2 group (the male G and two Bolds het Tremp)

The other 1.2 group is a banded nose Bold Stripe het Tremp male in with 2 G Project PH Tremp/Eclipses - Trying to create the same thing as above (RAPTOR Bold G's), except my own line with the nose band (he's not bandit, no lineage in that regard but he does have a perfect nose band that I hope can be reproduced xD)

And to clarify, I have a clutch of 2 eggs from each of those groups.. so I'm really hoping all are fertile and the next eggs to come are good to. We'll see.
