Eggs or Ovulation

Hello friends, do you think these might be eggs developing or still only ovulations?
I know this is not a great shot and makes it hard to see but I didn't want to disturb her much longer.

Can you take a pic in a little bit darker lighting? (just a medium soft white light. bright light reflects off the white belly and it's too bright to see through very well)

I will try again soon. I tried using natural light because with artificial light it often gets harder to see. What do you think from what is visible?

If I sit far enough away from the screen, I can faintly make out a white-mass almost the size of a dime.

I think my 2 females' ovules/eggs/whatever did not reach that size until they mated. But that might be coincidence or just timing of the ovulation cycle. I have not idea when ovules officially turn into or are declared as eggs. :(

I have another post in the "Breeding" section that is call "Ovulations, eggs, or Gravid" (or something like this). You can look at the MANY photos I have updated and compare to your girl.

Has she been mated?

Looks like the "white mass" has gotten bigger. It used to only have a visible area of a dime, now it looks like it is visibly appearing the size of a nickel. Just a hunch, did she mate about 14 days ago?

Hmmm...Maybe it is just the lighting, angle, or her angle? Every gecko is different but here are example pics of my Ruby 20 days after 1st mating. She is "mighty plump" and you can also see a good example of how "less is more" lighting. :)

Just take a pic every few days and see if they are growing or getting reabsorbed. If she will cooperate, you might also take the time to re-introduce the male, but females do get moody/uncooperative further in.

There is definitely a big difference to yours. Your eggs are very visible and much more pronounced. My doubt here is really if what is seen in mine can be already considered actual eggs or still only ovulations.

I had that same question!! lol :D These pics are from a post in the "Breeding" section that I still keep posting on. I think the title is "Ovules, eggs, or gravid eggs??".

I never got a clear answer, so instead I have just been posted frequent updated pics to show others the transition (and I also started throwing in details of behavior about a week ago). I don't know that there is an exact date or visual sign of ovules officially being declared eggs. It's a long process and it appears to be a seamless transition.

I also have a post for my other gravid lady, Rosie. It is posted in the "Show off your Leo's" section because I knew it was "show" topic, instead of originating as a "breeding" question. :)

--------------

I only posted the 2 pics above to show that sometimes less light will allow more detail to show of what is inside (behind the white light-reflecting-colored skin). :)

---------------

But if comparing to my Day-20 (after mating) pics: If her ovules are smaller, I would reintroduce the male if she will let him do his deed again.

It is also possible that she absorbed her first ovules/eggs and is in the process of growing a fresh batch?? :D

I can only see one egg on mine though or am I looking at it wrong?

I concur that the egg on the right is harder to see, according to observing my 2 females since they went gravid. I couldn't clearly detect the lower-right egg until around day 15 on Ruby and I still haven't clearly seen it on Rosie today on Day 17.

**edit:
----------------------------------
Now on day 19, I looked at Rosie, and CLEARLY saw the lower-right egg as she was walking by. So I wanted to mention, the lower-right egg (when looking at the upright Leo's belly) is ALOT more visible from a sideview when looking at their rear-left leg....it even bulges from their body when they walk.

The other egg, by the front-right leg, is more clearly seen from the belly view and you can see it develop more clearly than the other egg. :D
----------------------------------
/end edit**

Geckos might usually lay a clutch of 2 (rarely 3...) but it is sometimes common for a first-clutch to be only 1 egg. So we will wait and see what our ladies give us :)

Guys I need your help. Here is an update on the same female. Is this an egg or still only an ovulation?

Looks like I can see the "higher left" egg forming on the right side of the photo. I think the 2 white spots on the right side of the photo are one egg (on that side) but visibly "divided" by a vein or whatever...

So you think they are definitely eggs and not just ovulations? They do look too big to me to be ovulations no?
