I am trying out the GEO for the first time this year and I carefully measured out the proper amounts of water and perlite but it seems that my eggs are touching the top of the container when closed. I don't see how they will hatch being that close to the lid. Doesn't seem like enough room for the little guys when they are trying to get out. Is this normal? Or am I just tripping? I have an idea how to remedy this, but wanted to see what other GEO users have experienced. Thanks for looking.

One of my girls lays fat eggs so hers usually end up in a regular deli. I had seen them touching the top and had the same concerns you're having. Even if a tiny bit was trimmed off the bottom of the legs that hold the insert in place, it would defeat the separation of multiple clutches hatching around the same time and getting mixed up. If you are using one container per female, there would be no risk of 2 clutches hatching at the same time. We vend at shows so are gone about one weekend a month, on average, and I couldn't take that chance.

Another of my girls lays long eggs, so I guess it all balances out in the end :)

Yeah, I tried trimming one and then I thought, hrmmmmm....

Luckily (or not lol ) I don't have the problem of multiple clutches hatching around the same time so I trimmed the legs oh so slightly. I am going to use different containers for each female just in case. I was concerned since the eggs I do have are literally pushing up against the lid. Maybe "yourgeckoguy" can help. Thanks for the response though Laney.

This has occurred with my Giant Mack Snow x Giant Mack Snow Eclipse eggs in a GEO. Hatching has not been negatively affected. A likely Giant/ possible Super Giant Super Snow het Eclipse female hatched today, for instance, with no ill effect under such conditions. I don't worry about it, but it's an individual judgment call.
