This may not be uncommon, but here is how I made eight hides for cheap.
They work fine, as is, however, I plan on covering them with great stuff. Carving the foam into a rock-like structure and painting.
All I used was a piece of 4" pvc. I got a 2' section for about $5, 8 - 4" "pop out" caps for $0.83 apiece and a can of flat black spray paint for $0.98.
Cut the pipe into 3" sections, cut a door, add a cap, and paint. Let it set until there are no more paint smell and add to your cage.
They are crude, but effective and cheap.
As you can see in the pic, my leos have no problem using them.
