I just purchased an Animal Plastics rack. It holds 12 32qt containers. It currently has heat tape run down the back. For my leos I want belly heat. My question is How many seperate cords can one outlet handle with say a surge protector or two? Or any suggestions on how to do this would be great. Thanks

It really depends on the total wattage. If you go to Bean Farms website they have wiring pics to help you out. I really doubt you'll need more than one cord. To be safe though you could do a HEavy duty lamp cord and it should work just fine. Use maybe a 12 gage wire it should be good up to 20 amps....

you could also do what is called daisey chaining the heat tape. its where you wire the heat tape together and the the last one is connected to the plug that goes in the t-stat. there is a video on youtube somewhere just look up wiring heat tape.
